It's Pink all over again.

Shortly after the release of the powerful film Pink, we were forced to relive the traumatic sequence of events in Chandigarh on the 5th of August 2017 ; where Varnika Kundu was stalked and nearly abducted by Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala's son Vikas Barala and his companion that reminded us of the same cause Amitabh Bachchan fought for in the film, women empowerment. At 12:15am when Varnika was heading into sector 7 when she noticed a white SUV trailing her. She swerved to the left to give the car space to go up ahead however they pulled up and were now driving side by side with Varnika. She was now in Sector-7 heading towards the traffic light Sector-26. She managed to glance upon the person sitting in the passenger seat and noticed he was gesturing at her to pull over. This caused her to palpitate and try and turn onto Madhya Marg ( an area with a sufficient number of people) however the white SUV blocked her path and the person in the passenger seat proceeded to get out of his car and walk towards her car. Varnika reversed as fast as possible, and then drove ahead to take the next right turn before they caught up again. While they were trying to catch up to her Varnika called the police to report her situation and was informed that help would be sent. After speaking to the police she was on the main road and had thought that the alleged stalkers would leave her be after they saw her communicate with the police, however it wasn't so. The alleged stalkers quickly caught up and were riding alongside Varnika's car for 5-6km on Madhya Marg, and trying to stop her car. After multiple failed attempts of cornering her they made a final move of blocking her path at the traffic light, after which one of the alleged stalkers got out and again began walking towards her. She attempted reversing the car again but couldn't go to far and tried honking so she could get the attention of the vehicles behind her. However by now he had reached her car , and began banging on her window shield and the tried opening the door. Varnika's back spasmed with fear, but just in time a police car came to the rescue and arrested both of the alleged stalkers. Varnika Kundu reminds me of Minal Arora in Pink, where she is unaffected by the alleged stalkers reputation but stands strong on getting justice.
She also teaches us that in such cases we must be proactive about our safety by contacting police authorities and try to escape in the best way possible.

Goodbye and hope you have a safe and delightful summer:)
